An unknown episode from life of an outstanding Polish actress Alina Janowska, when she was imprisoned in Pawiak during WWII. The film mentions comrades from the cell, executed by Gestapo. Actress also talks about the interpenetration of life and art, which she experienced while performing in a scene from “Samson” by Andrzej Wajda, filmed at Szuch Avenue, the former Gestapo headquarters in Warsaw, where she was interrogated as a prisoner.
ANDRZEJ KAŁUSZKO
Born in Warsaw in 1952. Film director, cinematographer and producer. Graduated from the Warsaw University in Polish Studies (1976) and the University of Silesia in Katowice (Faculty of Radio and Television). He has directed several documentaries, mainly related to World War II and Warsaw.
