This animated film tells the story of who Queen Apolejka lives in a high tower. Because there are
seventy-six steps, she dislikes going down to the garden. Then one day she hears someone singing a
song about her. Looking down, Queen Apolejka sees a prince, but when she runs down to the garden
instead of a prince, she sees a donkey next to the well. Based on a Maria Kruger story, Apolejka and
Her Donkey illustrates that charm, modesty, and affirmation of life bring happiness.
JOANNA JASIŃSKA KORONKIEWICZ
Born in 1980 in Łódź. Director, scriptwriter, animator and artist. Graduated from the National Film
School in Łódź. Since 2005, has worked for the TV Studio of Animation Films in Poznan . Since 2012,
Doctor of Filmmaking, Lecturer at the National Film School in Łódź. Primarily makes animated films
for children and young people using the technique of painting directly under the animation. Winner
of over 20 prizes at international and national Festivals.

Based on the classic Polish children’s story by Aleksander Fredro, the animated film “Johnny and
Tommy” tells the humorous story of the relations between two neighbors who are polar opposites.
The tale is told with several threads illustrating the old saying, “Do unto others as you have them do
unto you.”
ANDRZEJ GOSIENIECKI
Born in 1973 in Poznań. Director of animated films, scriptwriter, film set designer and visual artist.
Gosieniecki studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. His films use novel artistic and animation
techniques. The winner of prestigious prizes at, among others: Sichuan Television Festival –
International Gold Panda Award, Cairo International Film Festival, Ale Kino International Young
Audience Film Festival, OFAFA.

In the animated film, “The Lumberjack and the Devil,” the Devil is not as bad as he is made out to be.
Once upon a time, long, long ago, but maybe not so long, in a land far, far away, but maybe not so far, there lived a Woodsman in the last remaining forest where he cared for the last three wolves. The wolves were stressed by the incessant singing of the birds. And there was Lumberjack who made birdhouses to pass the time. And there was a Devil who was supposed to do what devils are supposed to do: tempt others to do evil.
JACEK ADAMCZAK
Born in 1955 in Poznań. Director of animated films, artist, scriptwriter, and animator. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, where he is Assistant Lecturer. Adamczak makes animated films for children and young people. Vice-Rector of the University of Fine Arts in Poznań (2008-12). ”For Services to Culture Gloria Artis,” awarded a Gold Medal by the President of the Republic of Poland in 2010 and a Silver Medal in 2008. Since 1982, has worked for the TV Studio of Animated Films in Poznań. Winner of over 30 awards at international and national Festivals. Member of the Association of Polish Filmmakers.

In this animated film, an inquisitive little Mermaid swims up the River Vistula, deep into an unknown land. A quiet bend of the river gives her a safe haven, and the fish and crayfish become her new friends. The Mermaid often sings and her beautiful voice enchants Szymek, a local fisherman. But then he finds out with astonishment that his Father and brother have captured the Mermaid intending to sell her to the Prince.

Born in 1977 in Gdynia. Director of animated films, special effects supervisor, and 3D animator. Graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University in Gdańsk and from the Faculty of Science from the University of Aix-Marseille in Aix en Provence, France. Since 2006, has worked for the TV Studio of Animated Films in Poznań. Czarzasty creates documentary films and advertisements using advanced 3D techniques. Awarded for his animated films and for music video clips. Member of Polish Filmmaker’s Association.

An animated film about the indignities of old age. Aging animals, rejected by their owners, meet in
the forest: the Donkey who could not work anymore, the Dog who failed to guard the farm, the Cat
who stopped hunting for mice, and the Rooster who stopped crowing at dawn. When night settles,
the animals decide to stick together and search for a new home.
ROBERT TURŁO
Born in 1966. Director of animated films, artist, stage designer, and animator. Graduate of the
Interior Design Department of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and from the Academy of
Fine Arts in Warsaw. Since 2002, has worked for the TV Studio of Animated Films in Poznań.
Awarded the World Gold Medal for “Ice Mountain” in the category Program for Children awarded by
the Jury of the 47th The New York Festivals Television Programming & Promotion. Four-time
recipient of the Silver Line for Best Animated Film for Children at the National Festival of Animated
Film in Cracow, OFAFA. Member of Polish Filmmaker Association.
