TOMASZ RYCHTER
Roman Frister was born in a Jewish family. After the outbreak of World War II, he fled with his parents to Krakow, where his mother was murdered. Then, he went to the camp in Starachowice, where his father died. He survived the camps of Mauthausen, Auschwitz and the death march to Mauthausen, where he was liberated. After two years of treatment in the hospital for tuberculosis, he returned to Poland and settled in Wroclaw, where he worked as a journalist. In 1952 he was arrested for alleged sabotage, and after his release from detention deleted from the list of persons entitled to practice journalism. In May of 1957 he immigrated to Israel keeping his Polish citizenship. He died after a completion of the film, last February.
EWA ŻMIGRODZKA
Born in 1955 in Warsaw. Documentary film director and screenwriter. She has been a TVP reporter and filmmaker from the late 80s. Author of many documentaries on historical topics, especially about the Warsaw Uprising and Jewish subjects in Polish history.
KRZYSZTOF ZWOLIŃSKI
A graduate of the Faculty of Theory of Drama of the Theatre Academy in Warsaw. Head of the editorial board of “TeleEkspress” in 1992, and vice director of editorial of Documentary Films and Reportage TVP 2 (2007-2011). Author of many documentaries on historical topics, especially about the Warsaw Uprising and Jewish subjects in Polish history.
