A very new breathtaking thriller LULLABY KILLER directed by Krzysztof Lang (Paper Marriage, Provocateur) will officially open the 29th Polish Film Festival in America on Saturday, November 4th at 8:00 PM. in AMC Rosemont 18.

The crime drama was inspired by a story of the most notorious Polish serial killer. Made in a style of “The Silence of the Lambs,” this highly suspenseful movie is set in the communist Poland in the 1950s.

For years many people disappear in Cracow and its vicinity. 67 persons in total. Young militia detective Karski constructs his own hypothesis of a serial killer, contrary to convictions of his superiors. Shortly, just one person remains in a circle of the suspects: Wladyslaw Mazurkiewicz called “Pretty Wladek.” This king of life, handsome, elegant playboy, wealthy adulterer, but also respected citizen, a man of surprising connections, a hypnotic charm and a murky past. During his ongoing investigation Karski stumbles across increasingly more obstacles: material evidence and records of the case are missing, the trusted people turn against him, and a very strange relationship comes into existence between the investigator and the suspect… And in the background of the whole case a beautiful mysterious woman shows up like a ghost…

The film is starring Andrzej Chyra and Tomasz Schuchardt. They are accompanied by most popular Polish actors: Boguslaw Linda, Andrzej Grabowski, Karolina Gruszka, Katarzyna Warnke, Arkadiusz Jakubik, Katarzyna Figura, Izabela Kuna, Jerzy Trela, Ireneusz Czop.

The movie is in Polish with English subtitles. A running time is 100 min. There will be only one screening at the festival. The movie was produced by Monolith Film; it will be released in Poland on October 20th

 

 

AMC Rosemont 18 is located at 9701 Bryn Mawr Ave. by River Rd. exit from I-90. The theatre offers ample parking, free of charge with a ticket validation inside.

The Opening Night screening will follow the official VIP reception attended by festival guests, outstanding film artists and professionals of the film industry. The reception will take place at the Society for Arts (1112 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago) from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. (business attire required). Acclaimed Rio Bamba Band will appear live. All Opening Night attendees will receive valuable gift bags.

The Opening Screening will be proceeded by a mini-concert of Kaeyra, a very talented young Polish vocalist at a dawn of a great professional career, with a special participation of Pascal Pahl and Daniel Jonak.
