Forst is a wealthy, well-organized person, seemingly a man on top of the world, a corporate vice-president. His life takes an abrupt turn when he quits his job, burning bridges as he leaves, ensuring there is no going back. Four years later, Forst is a hermit living in a forest, unshaven, dirty, and ragged. He lives in a shelter he’d dug out, hunting for food, his only companion a three-legged dog. His life takes another turn when a thirteen-year-old girl turns up at his door. Forst’s recluse life is forced to take yet another turn.
JAN JAKUB KOLSKI
Born in 1956 in Wrocław . Director, scriptwriter, director of photography, writer, academic teacher. He is one of Poland’s most original filmmakers. In 1981-85 he studied cinematography at the National Film School in Łódź. During his professional career he made over twenty documentary films, sixteen feature films and wrote eight novels. His films have been awarded numerous times at festivals in Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Tokyo, Moscow and Montreal. Member of the Polish Film Academy and the European Film Academy.
