Jerzy Kukuczka was an outstanding Polish Himalayan mountaineer, alpinist and Tatra Mountain climber. As the second man in the world after Reinhold Messner he won the crown of the Himalayas and the Karakorum climbing to the top of 14 major summits with the altitude of above 8,000 m. With incredible mental strength, relentless in striving for his aim, this man from Silesia was able to climb to the top thanks to his persistence. The film describes his climbing, both in the mountains and in everyday life, painting a portrait of the Himalayan mountaineers of the 1980s.
