SYNOPSIS
There are many people in this world who have difficulty in fulfilling themselves. They can’t meet their material needs or career ambition and are completely helpless against reality. One of these people is the coming of age heroine of the film “Waves”, Kasia. She is at a point in her life, where she must make the most important decisions. It seems that she is in a hopeless situation as everyone around her is pulling her down. However, Kasia possess a moral instinct and intuition of good and evil, which despite her young age, help her change her fate. Kasia strives for fulfillment through her talent for hairdressing, but it will cost her many conflicts with her surroundings.
GRZEGORZ ZARICZNY
Born in 1983 in Kokotów. Director and screenwriter. He graduated from the Film Directing Department of the Silesian University in Katowice and a documentary course at the Andrzej Wajda Master School in Warsaw. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival for his documentary “The Whistle” (Gwizdek). “Waves” is his debut as a feature film director.
