VOLTA

SYNOPSIS

Zuzia is twelve and she’s been training as an equestrian vaulter for several years. Because of her age and build, she’s lifted by her older and stronger colleagues. She’s the ‘top mounter’, the capstone crowning their human pyramid. A new, intensive season begins. During a training session, it turns out that the moves she’s involved in lack grace and lightness. She’s grown and, in the end, the older team members admit that they don’t have the strength to lift her any more. She’s going to have to find a new role within the group.

MONIKA KOTECKA
A graduate in social studies and of the Łódź Film School, where she studied photography and direction of photography, Monika Kotecka’s shorts have been screened at some of the world’s most important festivals, including Berlin, Cannes and T-Mobile New Horizons in Wrocław. She has taken part in numerous international photography and film projects, with the Cinetrain Berlinale Talent Campus being just one of them.

KAROLINA PORYZAŁA
A photographer and screenwriter, Karolina Poryzała graduated in photography from the Łódż Film School and from a screenwriters’ course run by the Krakowska Szkoła Scenariuszowa (Krakow Screenwriting School). As a photographer, she is primarily interested in creative documentation. She is currently working as a script doctor and is developing a screenplay for a feature film.
